SINGAPORE: This year's top PSLE student is from Seng Kang
Primary.
12-year old Foo Xiang Peng was among the 50,863 pupils who sat for
the Primary School Leaving Examination in October.
97.4 percent or 49,557 have been assessed as suitable to proceed to
secondary school.
Of these, 61.9 percent are eligible for the Special or Express
course, 22.6 percent for the Normal (Academic) and 13 percent for
the Normal (Technical) course.
The remaining 2.6 percent or about 1,306 pupils, who are assessed
not ready for secondary school, will be given another year in
Primary six or enrolled in basic vocational training courses.
The Education Ministry says eligible pupils will receive their
option forms to select secondary schools from their respective
primary schools.
Parents should submit the completed forms to the pupils' primary
schools between November 24 and 29 from 9am to 3pm, except on
Sunday.
The Secondary One posting results will be released on December
22.
Pupils are to collect their results from their primary schools that
day and report to their posted secondary schools on December 23. -
