renting and renting out

Hi, next year, I will be moving out of my current home to live in a rental room/flat. I wanted to ask so me things about the finances of it. IF I were to get a common room, rental would be about 500 a mo nth.

I was thinking of getting a few friends and renting out a hdb apartmemt for about 1500 a month and splitting the rent. do you think this is a good idea?

I think moving out to live in a rented flat, just so you could lease out your home isn’t the brightest idea.
