"History is always written by the victor." , always remember
that. Invaders is too harsh a word and misleading. (Especially when
a defending country wins a war)
I hate history as a subject, but I love it when I read and hear
about it.
It is true, mankind has a lot to learn from history, but then
again, mankind's instinct hasn't changed very much because instinct
is not a product of education but rather, evolution. Similar
instinct may lead to similar mistakes and so forth.
In summary, I think history is important, it is paramount we
teach our kids our history to give them a sense of belonging and
pride (for we are the victors) and allow higher education to
overule base instincts so as not to repeat past mistakes.
