Late
rock legend David Bowie has left approximately US$100 million
($A140 million) to his supermodel wife and two children, according
to a will which was filed in Manhattan Surrogate Court on
Friday.
Bowie left a 25 percent
share of the estate to each of his children, successful film
director, Duncan Jones, 44, and 15-year-old Alexandria.
In addition, Alexandria
will receive her late father’s much loved property on Little Tonshi
Mountain, near Woodstock in the United States.
His wife, Iman, 60, was
left the remaining 50 percent along with Mr Bowie’s other
properties, including the couple’s apartment in
Manhattan.
Other beneficiaries were
the musician’s close friend and long-time personal assistant,
Corinne Coco Schwab, and Duncan’s childhood nanny Marion Skene, who
were left US$2 million and US$1 million respectively.
The document also
stipulated his ashes be scattered in a Buddhist ritual in
Bali.
New York Daily
News has
reported the will was signed in 2004, the same year Bowie suffered
a heart attack while on tour in Europe.
He died of liver cancer on
January 10, two days after his 69th birthday,
prompting an outpouring of grief across the world.
