singapore will always need accountants. the turnover rate is
high and they leave as fast as they can come.
i dont think anybody enjoys working as an accountant. i know
many of them working long hours and many who quit after a month or
two.
my friend working at big four slept 2 hours a night during the 3
months intensive auditing period. leave office at 2 am; reach home,
bathe shit etc.. sleep at 4 am. wake up at 6 am. be at work at 8 am
or such. he really looked like a panda bear (or jack sparrow
lol)
and some also got to work on public hols. some work on
weekends also; maybe to reduce the workload for the
weekdays so they dont have to work till 2 am (see above
example)
but if you die die want to study accountancy SMU is the best
local uni to go.
Audit is really hell. Haha. But it's like the survival of the
fittest. You survive you reap the rewards. But most people chose
audit to suffer at most 2-3 years then they will run away. They go
for the experience and credibility. But not everyone in big4
suffers lah. Those who are not in audit are pretty much comfortable
relatively.
