"It is better not to give to a
temple as it shown no respect to the
temple".
Don’t
understand how leaving dharma books in temples imply a sign of
disrespect to these places? In fact, I believe dharma books which
are still in good conditions and are meant for free distribution
and after reading, should be left in these temples where other
devotees can have access to them as well.
One also
will find many temples accepting unwanted statues where others who
want them can also take them home. It is of course troublesome for
temples when such number of unwanted statues mounts, but at least
they do know how to properly dispose of them.
Yeah, agree with you. However I understand that some temples
have rules like asking for permission before putting dharma books
in their temple. May be they want to ensure that the dharma books
that others place in their temple are teaching true Buddhism.
