Bicycle racks for car

Hey fellas. just need some input. which kind of rack would be better? the rack in which the bike is "standing" on the roof or the rack where bike is hung at the rear boot?

Im worried some mother*****er would rear end me and damage the bike. but im not sure if roof racks can be installed on a sedan.

It's the same actually.. Taking the bike down from the roof rack will be a little difficult as it's quite high up. But it saves you the trouble from keepin it after you finished using it everytime. As for the rear rack. it's the opp. easier to dismount your bike but have to keep everytime. If not people will steal. And some driver may rearend you too..
