i also moved from CBD to ulu place... and on some days i don't even spend a single cent... but that's cos I like to lunch in instead of eating what i perceive as unhealthy oily foodcourt fare (which is the only thing here), so i have milk and cereal stocked up here...

the kopi here sucks too.... so i save on a lot of kopi money even if i have nespresso it's still cheaper than the $1.20 kopi i used to buy eberyday

previous office we have 4 coffee machine per level...

now each lvl only got 1 coffee machine >___>

I like to eat with my collicks... so I dun bring lunch...I only lunch in when I too sleepy, need to take a nap after lunch...

for coffee, I have a fantastic sea view now so not tat bad ba...

i never really liked to lunch with my colliks (my prev job was also my first full-time job)

cos they always like to flip mountain climb hill to have 2-hr lunches when there are so many many good choices a 5 min-walk away...

Lunching with collicks is beri impt... I organise lunch outing even with ppl from other depts... mainly for bonding... sometimes talk issues over lunch is easier...

Besides, once ur network is formed up nicely, when U need support from other group also much easier... much easier to get things done...

and besides, when lunching with collicks, u will naturally talk abt gossips, be it work related or just scandals... this are information, and we're at an era when knowledge is power...

why so happening one

some ppl say my office culture was quite unfriendly

for example, clique means clique, even if got special occasion, the other clique also must "think think" and "we'll let you know if we're free".

and they dun like to go out in big groups cos it's hard to find seats

most of the time when i lunch with my immediate colliks, i feel like i'm sitting there pei2 xiao4 cos their common topic is not my common topic.. like i'm being very fake :\ and i cannot lunch with my non-immediate can-click-v-well colliks so much cos tongues will wag...

then again i am a bit anti-social

so easy to communicate with one another

we all know which sites everybardie else "secretly" surf during office hours
we just yell across the room if required to tok to one another
to jio ppl go smoke, we just stand up and gesture and all other smokers will file out auto

our computers are all using same pw
u can come use mine, i can go use yours if i need to check or retrieve something
though this is bery unhealthy in some sense (somemore IT co.!!!), but at least it does not hinder productivity

omg talk abt smoking...

can u believe that in my dept of 40 odd people NONE of them were smokers?

i asked around, and i've never seen anyone taking smoke breaks or smoking while we were out for lunch or holding cigarettes or stuff like that... and on those rare occasions e.g. celebrating dept head's birthday, we always had to hunt high and low for a lighter...

once my collik was on leave so i went to her desk to look thru some papers we were working on together. A senior collik told me off sharply "STOP FLIPPING THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE's THINGS!" :(

Well, I can converse in a wide range of topic so no problem... usually if go out big group, we'll go out early so we can find seats...

Our office culture quite good even b4 I came over... So it takes only some effort to round up and strings and pull...
