True Buddha School request you to submit your 8 characters

True Buddha School request a person to write his 8 characters (birthdate) for taking refuge. All must submit their vital birthdate ( lunar calendar) to Seattle for taking refuge in Lu Sheng Yen.

Any other buddhist sects do that ?

Lu Sheng Yen and his group of masters can cast taoist spells on your 8 characters to let you be blinded by his words. They can use your 8 characters to take away your luck/fortune and transfer to be used by them. This is the power of Taoist spells.

Many people didn't know that 8 characters can be used for a lot of things. They blindly follow instruction because they think that a monk will not harm them. They thought they are just submitting for taking refuge in a "living" buddha who is actually a MARA HEAD.

Can anyone share which buddhist sect also request your 8 characters for taking refuge in Buddhism ? I don't think there is any except for the True Buddha School cult.

This is scary. No, I doubt any legitimate Buddhist group would ask for such detailed information from followers. Birthdate and time is not a prerequisite for practising Buddhism, so it is hard to explain why TBS would need such information from their followers.

I remember when I fill up a form at Kong Meng San to take refuge, I need to fill in birth date too, but not the birth time. And then Chinese characters of my chinese name is needed too. I fill in fake one. Haha. But of course Kong Meng San is trusted, ok.

normally the refuge form will require your name, age, home address. Some ask for birthday and occupation information.

But True Buddha School will only ask you to submit your name and your 8 characters (lunar calendar birthday, time). As the wise and the wise old will warn a person, do not give your true 8 characters to anybody unless it is for marriage selection date or a trusted fortune teller. Keyword is trusted.

The reason being any person who knows the wee bit of black magic or taoist spell can use your 8 characters to do a lot of things, including making you to be their obedient yes-man.

A little off buddha teaching, there is no requirement for buddhist institution to collect details, although there is no harm is doing so for both buddhists and buddhists' institution. By collect unnecessarily details, they are making themselves busy for nothing...Just to add, 8 characters can't have any effect on Buddhists who practice chanting, studying buddhism scriptures and meditation. _/\_Amitabha Buddha

what true buddha school do is to collect a stack of all the newly refuge forms and the master will wave a vajra bell over all the vital 8 characters, saying a chant or a spell, so it is not a surprise if the master set a spell on all the new disciples to listen to every word that lu sheng yen says, to give their all and donate generously.

By the time when the new disciples learn more about traditional buddhism, they had already donated much to the cult.

The various TBS temple/chapter will send the refuge forms to the headquarter in Seattle where they keep everything in a filing system. Lu Sheng yen was working in the army before he became a cult founder, he makes sure that all the letters written to Seattle, all the refuge forms are filed properly and they can retreive every information about one perosn very easily.
