But in their heads, they usually believe that buddhists are "lost" and need jesus.

So what can we say to them to correct their misconception?

You truly emphatise on their ignorance and suffering conditions.

that is why alot of people is very upset and irritated by the christians assertions, that your religion is satanic and false and the idol you are praying is made of wood, clay etc. which made me wonder, who is more false than true? there is a saying, the pot calling the kettle black

I personally have on many occasions heard Christians say that Buddhism is "not good" and that Buddhists should convert to Christianity.

Though I am not a Buddhist, I am curious how a Buddhist would defend his religion if a Christian were to say such a thing in front of him.

I am just thinking if we need to resort to defensive arguments... because if someone simply attack another religion, it already reflects very badly on them... therefore you already know they are making others (someone like yourself) dislike their religion... so why need to do anything?

The best defence is knowledge and experience. If you lack correct knowledge of dharma, and experience with dharma through practice, you will not be able to defend Buddhism.

The buddhists have more solid reasoning to back up their own buddhism than Christianity which resorts to badmouthing, bashing, condemning and suppressing, when questions are asked they use stupid verses to shut the mouths of Christians.

you bet. but then if you think deeper, it does so because they are rather insecure and resort to all these name calling and to prevent their followers from converting. this is like snake oil saleman tactics.

Sadly, I personally have encountered MANY christians badmouthing Buddhism. It's not jus Pastor rony tan.

Because I was a christian and was from a local church, I have heard many of the church people badmouth other religions. It's quite widespread and common among christians here.
