Feedback from Project
Rebirth (Round 2):
‘Overall, Project Rebirth is well received and is an “eye and
heart” opener tailored suit to lay Buddhists.’ – Jack
‘I would like to say that I enjoy
every lesson tremendously (which I’m surprised of myself) and found
myself looking forward to the upcoming lessons. To be truthful, I
have never felt, if I may, clear-minded for a long time, after I
opened up my mind towards Buddhism. When you told the class about
your life story on the first lesson, it struck me hard… I am
fortunate enough to be able to “stumble” onto your course…’ ‘I
signed up this course as the title of the course, ‘Project Rebirth’
caught my attention. Indeed, the course has lived up to its name.
Every two hours spent per week was definitely worthwhile! Best two
hours every week! I found myself looking forward towards every
session. The teacher uses engaging teaching materials and methods
to bring Buddhism alive! Media ranging from films, to music, to
newspaper articles. The teacher is very passionate and patient,
able to handle questions asked to the best of his knowledge and
with humility. The course has opened up my eyes to the vast depth
of Buddhism and perked my interest in Buddhism, to be a better
being while living in this modern society. As a 20 year old
who thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from this course, it
is certain that youths and young adults would be able to relate and
benefit as well.’ – Kaiying
‘The location of the course was accessible to most people like
working adults and its timing suits us as we could come after our
work. This course is refreshing and appropriate for people who have
queries on the significance of their lives. The core teachings of
the Buddha were taught in a chronological and logical way to arouse
and sustain our interest in basic Buddhism. Moreover, the
presentations were filled with apt and engaging videos and examples
to bring across certain points… Overall, it was a pleasant and
intriguing experience. I would definitely invite my friends to
attend the future series of this course. Thank you.’ – Chee Hao
‘Dear Brother Shi’an, this is my
first time attending your class. Found it refreshing. I especially
appreciate that your methods and subjects inspire reflections and
thoughts about the Buddhadharma and its applications in life.
Presents a different perspective. Shows the Buddhadharma to be
alive in and around us. Thank you and I hope will have the
conditions to join your next class.’ – Jo-Anne
‘As always, the sessions and note are very enlightening… Once
again, thank you for your great sharing which I have found very
comforting… Your sessions have definitely brought me a
deeper understanding of Buddhism… You have conducted the classes in
a light-hearted and enjoyable way. It has definitely made me learn
much about Buddhism. I wish there are more of such Dharma teachers…
in Singapore.’ – Audrey
‘… attended the first lesson. It’s
as great as I thought… I like your class extremely well… I have
been quite a “passive” Buddhist… [who had] taken refuge for 20
years, but I find your course very informative and lively, which I
enjoy a lot!! In fact, I join this course because I like your
classes a lot. I have been following Awareness Place classes on and
off for many years with friends and all of us like your jokes so
much. ^.^ I stay at West Coast. It is a far journey home… but I am
willing to travel just to enjoy your classes. I even shortened my
leisure trip last month in order to come back in time to attend the
class!! Thanks for bringing us ten wonderful lessons!! I am sorry I
really can’t provide any negative feedback as I like your class too
much!’ – Miaoyun
‘I have always been impressed with the Dharma you have written
in the blog (www.moonpointer.com) as well as
www.TheDailyEnlightenment.com.
You’re so knowledgeable and wise, so I was surprised when you turn
out to be such a young practitioner and a Buddhist teacher. Anyway,
I am glad our path has crossed and I would appreciate your guidance
and kindness… We wish to thank you for the wonderful Dharma you
have taught us over the last few weeks and we have benefited a
lot…’ – Kim
‘Never a dull moment!’ –
Danny
‘Casual style in sharing of course content. Lots of appropriate,
interesting illustrations and video. Good sharing of
experiences/examples that help us to relate better to what certain
points are about.’ – Jetty
‘Thanks
for being a wonderful lecturer. Lessons were well conducted and
interesting.’ – Andy
‘Thank you very much for opening this Dharma class for us and
for having taught us so many things. I feel blessed to have the
opportunity to attend the class. I did enjoy the class very
much and am enjoying with the Dharma teaching that is learned
so far. It helps to resolve and answer some of the questions in my
life and am still in progress of digesting all the lessons taught,
and hope can discover more.’ – Huimin
‘I think
the course was really good. Especially with the extracts from
movies etc, which makes it really interesting for the”younger and
modern” generation!’ – Wendy
