first time heard of this great ch'an monk
惟觉大和尚. 惟觉 mean just starting to
aware/awaken. interesting.
when very young already into reading
Buddhadharma, when other children are playing. but at around age 38
then become a monk, after seeing through life.
nice ch'an poem:-
梨花偶成
八十一年三月二十日于德基关房
其一 悟无常理
梨树开花满树白 满园梨花白如雪
片片雪花飞满地 今日满园成青色
其二 悟真空理 - arahat's state (non attachment)
梨树开花满树白 满园梨花白如雪
片片雪花飞满地 今日满园成青色
森罗万象终归坏 唯有真空才不灭
其三 悟但中理 - bodhisattva's state (non
dualism)
梨树开花满树白 满园梨花白如雪
片片雪花飞满地 今日满园成青色
青色白色皆对待 不落两边非生灭
其四 悟实相理 - Buddha's state (non wandering
thoughts)
梨树开花满树白 满园梨花白如雪
片片雪花飞满地 今日满园成青色
青色白色皆真性 春风满园露禅悦
