Even if he is at present unable to see the fallacy of a god, he
is at least not averse to learning more about Buddhism. I see
it as his strength, to be able to openly admit his confusion and
ask for advice and opinions about it.
He even chants every day lately.
I would choose to encourage, rather than put him down.
To benefit from Buddhism, he has to let go all he has learned from
Christianity, otherwise, he would have two mindset that is
detrimental to his personal well beings. Buddhism is proven record

As for bardo, it is basically about 意生身与《华严经》提及佛十大身中之意生身大不相同。佛陀证得清净法身，故其意生身乃随愿所生，随其清净之愿力（至十方世界度众）而生。众生之意生身乃意识所成之身，形成元素为业力。彼已摆脱色身束缚，远较生前自在。
