Mazda RX-8 vs Honda Accord Euro-R

The price of both cars is about the same

I saw the engine cap for the RX-8 is about 1308cc while the euro-r can go up to 1998cc

I don't really know much about cars, i got the information from sgcarmart

but the rx-8 definitely looks much stylish than the euro-r

both cars has near similar performance..

to get fuel consumption for 8km/l for RX8 is considered WOW.. GOOD!
avrg consumption for RX8 is actually 6-7km/l

power and modifications = alot because of power of renesis!!!! rotary engine is way to go...

however, the euro-r will give u consumption somewhere between 9-12km/l

good power, nice handling..

rx8 = cheaper road tax
euror = not so cheap road tax..

i'd get the Euro-R for styling and luxury..

if u dont mind a stiff and fast car.. i wld rather u consider the all new JDM Civic Type-R

the RX8 is not that fast and consumes petrol with a fearsome thirst….in fact the BMW M3’s FC is way better….but of course u save a HELL lot of $$ on road tax but still its being offset by the FC which i think in the long run makes u lose out instead of savings

There's no point comparing engine capacity when the rx8 uses a rotary engine.

In any case, wait for the new version of the rx8 to be unveiled at the Tokyo motor show before deciding. Will probably be an 08 model.

Power of an engine is divided into two figures..one is horsepower (bhp) and the other one is torque (Nm)..both are equally important for acceleration and top speed..but if you want fast acceleration, a car with good torque will be good..In the case of the RX-8's rotary engine, torque ain't that good as is notorious with rotaries..so if you want good acceleration in the RX-8, you'll have to go all the way with the gas pedal..which equals to high fuel consumption..

But I would think the RX-8 will still outperform the Accord Euro-R because no matter what, the RX-8's Renesis Rotary still has more power overall..

Engine capacity is the space where fuel and air mixture combusts in the cylinders..The space between the cylinders and pistons added up will be the total capacity of the engine..

E.g.: If one cylinder has a space of about 500cc and the engine has 4 cylinders, it has an engine capacity of 2.0-litres..

Higher engine capacity usually equates to more power because with more fuel and air mixture burnt, more power is produced..

not true....it all depends on many factors....compression,cylidner head design, size of valves,valve timing,duration and overlap etc...u can have a big engine but with rubbish BHP...take the 1983 camaro RS for instance...it had a 5.0L engine but with a puny 170BHP!!!

look at merc amg engine...

he is asking abt acceleration not top speed... Very Happy

Even Merc's 7G-tronic gearbox shudders to see AMG's 5.4-litre V8 supercharged engine..just imagine that amount of torque.. Laughing

cannot lidat say.
some engineers tuned them to have more torque than bhp or vice versa although you can actually strike a balance. IMO, having all the BHP is useless in singapore, you cant go that fast, having more torque is more important. Laughing
