Guys i think i used to post regarding if i should get a vios , swift or jazz .. Now my mum want me to get a mid-sedan car around the price range of 60k .

But , i not looking into china car .

Which are the car you suggest me to get ?
I would prefer low fuel consuming and 1.6 and below .

By the way if let say i buying car insurance , and my mum also have a car license , can i use her name to buy car insurance but the insurance not just cover herself but the people that are using the car . Will it be cheaper than if i register under my name which i just get my driving license . or isit cheaper to use hers to register .

if taking long term loan and little down payment, might as well consider long term leasing instead...

in singapore, we are renting car for 10 years....not owning the cars hor

plus many drive few years then switch car...loose $$$ ??

maybe with that price, pay a little more, get Latio. Compact hatch back but u can slide rear seat further back so its really spacious. my fren driving it FC also very good. he usually gets +/- 15km/l. Japan made car definitely better than thai models. other choice may be Mazda 3, Altis, sylphy, etc..

Rolling Eyes Forget the mid-sedan car, as it would be history soon
try get the ALL NEW HONDA FIT 2008,the 1.3 Version is great and it lower then 60k and had a new redesign engine base on the old one but with around 100 HP with i-vtec. a normal 1.5 sedan had only 110HP and honda claim 24km per L even with i-vtec

Insurance Confused I would suggest your mum be the hired and the insurance under her.
yours would cost twice anyway.i had friend who just got her license and got a insurace qoute over $4000 but if under her dad, only around $1300 Exclamation

30 day = $1800
but usually 30day wont be $1800.. wld be $1k instead..

so.. 2 yrs.. 24k spent on renting a car.. petrol? 300 a mth. 7200 for 2 yrs..

might as well buy car.. cuz when u change or sell car.. still get $ back..

have you consider the interest being incurred when you "buy" a car?

when you buy a car at say, 50k, the real cost of car is not 50k

also how abt insurance, maintenance cost when "buy" car ...however these are covered under leasing

i think renting of a car is still slightly more expensive than buying ur own..

long term renting is called 'leasing'

it will less expensive to lease car than buy if buyer chose to "buy" cars with 0% down payment and 10 years old...bcos of the interest incurred will be huge

if buyer can take 1 year loan, max down payment, then of course if worth to buy

however, the good points abt leasing is that not in debt to banks for years as well as free support for breakdown etc...

if for some reason cannot pay up the monthly installment, in debt to bank is the last thing you want...

but the thing abt leasing a car is the your monthly payment is much higher than "buying" a car for sure...so need to have more free cash on hand
