The chapter 9 reminds me of the 35 buddha practises. Many buddha name mentioned inside.

Amitabha pureland easier to reborn there. Other pureland harder. Intro many pureland will confuse too.

I no longer chant many buddha name nowadays. used to recite 35 buddha names in tibetian buddhism n all the buddha names in chapter 9.

I chant AMTB Buddha at nite.

百善孝为先 (among all the kindness, filial piety comes first)

In fact, Kishitigarbha Bodhisattva Vow Sutra is stating more accurately on the context of the above - cosmos 孝. The Filial Piety Sutra is stating samely as Kishitigarbha Bodhisattva Vow Sutra but you ought to broaden / outreach towards the context of all parents in the cosmos beyond races, languages, religions and living beings.

There is a Buddhist saying : 百善孝为先 (among all the kindness, filial piety comes first). What kindness is one talking about if one does not show kindness to one's parents.

I remembered there was once a monk asked the volunteers at the Old Aged Home "Were your parents well taken care of before you come here to do volunteering work ?" His question made sense to me.

Many people donate generously to religious organisations but give little or not giving to their parents. What generosity and kindness are they talking about ?

We should take care of our parents first before embarking any charity works.

I would not want to go to Pureland if knowing my parents are still suffering painfully for the sin and karma they commit in their present life. I would rather stay with my parents together and suffer as a one family.

Kishitigarbha Bodhisattva Vow Sutra is a good read, it show how Kishitigarbha's previous life as a Brahmin girl meditated/recited for one day and one night on a Buddha name to help liberate her mother from hell into heavenly realm. the virtue of just meditating for one day and one night is that powerful.

for purelanders, if one is able to be reborn there, 7(?) generation of your previous relatives including your parent will be liberated to higher realm no matter where they are. when reborn in pureland, u will become a Buddha shortly, the virtue and merit is unimaginable. it's like in the past when someone is emitted into the palace or for today, one become a President, your family will also feel proud and shared your merit.

Become budhha also benefit seven generations. They go higher realms like deva realm.

ya...such is Fu De(merit 福德) dedication, the most can only go up to Trayastrimsa heaven. Yama Deva and above need Gong De (virtue 功德), which mean some self cultivation.
