While most cases of murder will get the death sentence, there are however a substantial number of cases where the murderer is diagonised to have mental problems and they are given very light sentences such as between 5 to 10 years jail only.

While in rape cases, people are given around 10 to 20 years jail and in murder cases where a innocent life is lost and the person gets only 5 to 10 years jail just because he/she has a mental problem.

And we are talking about murder not manslaughter where the person accidentally kill someone or out of self defence kill someone. The person purposely kill someone and only get 5 to 10 years jail while a rapist can get 10 to 20 years jail

Do you think this is fair?

I think this is not fair at all.

Unless the person accidentally kill someone or kill the person out of self defence than we can give the person a short jail sentence.

Even for cases such as husband or wife kill the other spouse because he/she find out the other person having a affair should also be given the death sentence

All murders whether got mental problem anot and irregardless of the motives should be given the death sentence.

Some are still liable for punishment but lighter sentence due to diminished responsibility.
