Once again, our collective good fortune ripens as we are honored to
bring Lama Tharchin Rinpoche to Portland. We will have four
days with him and his excellent translator, Lama Ngawang.
Previously, we have focused on the foundational practices. Now we
will begin the next level deity yoga.
The Life of a Repkong Yogi
Lama Tharchin Rinpoche will recount stories from the life of
his father, the great Repkong master Chimé Dorje Rinpoche, the head
of the largest community of non-monastic practitioners in Amdo,
Tibet.
This event is a fundraiser for Tsogyal Latso, the birthplace of
Yeshe Tsogyal in Tibet. The evening will also include a slide show,
a silent auction, and a live auction.

Into the Heart of
Deity Yoga
Among the most skillful means of Secret Mantra Vajrayana
is the path of meditation known as deity yoga. As soon as you
engage with deity yoga, your mind is in union with
enlightenment as you begin to experience the enlightened nature of
the universe and all beings.
Although the teachings on deity yoga are vast and sometimes
complex, the beloved and illustrious 19thcentury master, Patrul
Rinpoche, simplified them in a short text bearing the name Key
Points for Meditation: Four Stakes that Secure the Life-Force of
Deity Yoga. These precise instructions are believed to have
been originally transmitted by Guru Rinpoche himself.
With his characteristic style that combines deep understanding with
personal experience, Lama Tharchin Rinpoche will present these
teachings as a basis for beginning a practice of deity yoga.

Kurukulle — Empowerment & Teachings
In Secret Mantra Vajrayana, the feminine deity or dakini is both
the wisdom to be realized and the means for realizing it.
In the Dudjom Terma tradition, the wisdom dakini Kurukulle, is the
inner aspect of Yeshe Tsogyal, the consort of Guru
Padmasambhava.
Known as Rikjayma in Tibetan, her name means
dakini that causes one to realize nondual awareness.
From point of view of enlightened activity that benefits
beings, Kurukulle is associated with magnetizing enchantment,
which draws all beings towards enlightenment.
By receiving this empowerment and instructions from Lama Tharchin
Rinpoche, even as beginners we are empowered to become Kurukulle in
body, speech, and mind.

eight-line verse written by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche in 2002 to
