Thanks for all contributors of rebirth accounts... i noticed that in pureland literature, it is mostly in Chinese Language... if more accounts in English is...

Hi Amitayus48, thanks for the links. When I checked them out, I found they are all in Chinese. Is there any way I can read them in English?

Does jing zong xue hui or any buddhist organization do translations for these stories or MCK talks or sutra explanation in English? I think it's quite important to reach out to those who don't read Chinese most people in my generation read mostly English or have a preferance for English.. So far I haven't come across any English translation with explanation in English for wu liang shou jing.

Oh, this is the one! Saw this before and I thought he is Guatama Buddha Shayamani. Is he another version of Buddha the founder of Buddhism? Both look no difference to me.

Amitabha is not another version of Buddha Shakyamuni. Usually, Amitabha is in the standing posture with his left hand folded up like the poster above (there is also sitting posture but very rare) and Buddha Shakyamuni is usually in the meditating posture (there is also standing one).

Unlike other religion who believe in one God, in Buddhism, we believe everybody has Buddha's nature (our true nature), thus there are many Buddhas.

It is at the eating area of Singapore Buddhist Lodge. On your left hand side when you enter the eating area. If I'm not wrong, there is only one Buddha at the eating area.

The big one is outside in open space beside the main chanting hall... That should be Amitabha... if my eyes not wrong... but i saw quite some time back and didn't look very carefully.

yes i have seen some compilations of stories in Chinese... fill many volumes and not much in English... they are very inspiring... frankly speaking, in my own opinion, everyone who has faith in Amitabha should make the aspiration to take rebirth in his pureland.. if you have read these accounts, it really helps to spark off faith. But no English version, sad to say.

This world as you are seeing it now is also 非实有. When we are suffering now, whether from cancer, starvation or poverty is all 非实有. But it is unbearable.

When a person is in the dream, it seems real. When he wakes up from the dream , it seems unreal. This can be said for all six realms of existence. All are 非实有. But we must still be careful not to fall into hell, cause 非实有 hell is going to give you alot of 非实有 suffering. And 非实有 you will be screaming in 非实有 way. haha(just joking)

Yea, I think those stories are very powerful and will increase faith. Do you happen to know any group translating them and need translators?
My English-Chinese is not very good, but I like to help if its possible..

Alternatively, in the mean time, use listening ones. cannot read, i'm sure can listen, right.

MCK got many website or cd or vcd got plentyful of video or audio explaination. All can be downloaded and loaded into a portable player or Handphone. Very convince nowaday. Can listen when travelling on MRT or bus. Same as reading. :)

hee hee... dun need to follow Dizang Pusa or try hard, many of us heading there... myself included. Anger is cause for hell realm. But reach there, can du the beings there, or be du by them, i think is not so sure....

on serious note, after you go pureland and develop enlightened qualities, wishing to go to hell to liberate beings is not out of the question...

Following is an interesting recording of a Buddhist who could foretell the exact day and exact time Amitabha would be coming to fetch him to Pureland. He informed his master and his master held prayers for 7 days till his very last breath. Hundreds of devotees witnessed his departure on the exact day and exact time he foretold and hundreds of devotees saw Amitabha, Goddess of Mercy and Da Shi Zhi Pusa who came to fetch him.

I wonder if one day you guys are able to foretell the exact day Amitabha will be fetching you to Pureland, will you inform your master and let others record the whole process or will you be like most Buddhists who only inform their family members.

If I am able to foretell, I think I will not let others record the whole process for fear it will disturb my peace and affect my chance of going there. Do you think my thinking is correct? However, after watching the above video, I think by letting others record the whole process will not affect the chance of going to Pureland.

If before her death, the dying person agree to come and inform you after she reach Amitabha's pureland. Then after she reach the pureland, she will give you a clear indication. Many pureland rebirth stories also mentioned how the deceased promised to give sign or dream and did so after death.

I have same opinion as you. If know when Amitabha will come and so on, then nothing much can disturb your chances of rebirth there. Telling others may give others faith to practice too.
