Firstly, you said "why would anyone be stupid enuff to put a engine
with lesser horsepower, meant for 2WD and fix on a AWD car?"..which
means you didn't say the Honda engine CANNOT be fitted to a 4WD
system..you just said TS will be stupid enough to do that..
THEN you said "have u tried mating a 2WD engine to a 4WD
drivetrain? the reverse can be done (a AWD rex can be converted to
a RWD version), but there is no way u can mate an engine meant for
2WD to a 4WD."..So NOW you say it CANNOT be done..aren't you
contradicting?
firstly, when i didn't say it cannot be done, i was addressing
the TS on a totally separate context of correcting his mistake. in
the same way, u do not assume an animal is a monkey just because it
eats a banana. secondly, if i do not explicitly mention that it
cannot be done, does it automatically mean that it can be done? if
ur mom didn't tell u can use the toilet, does it automatically mean
u have to crap in ur own underwear? my point at all times, was that
it cannot be done (mating a engine meant for 2WD onto a 4WD). u
have problem understanding simple english?

You want another example right? Here's one..
Audi's A4 2.0T turbocharged engine..it CAN be specified with or
without Quattro in the A4..
And the power output of the engine in 2WD or 4WD guise? No
change..
Still the same 197bhp @ 6,000rpm and 207lb ff @ 5,000rpm..
This engine also in the A3 and more famously the Golf GTi in 2WD
form..and the Golf GTi cannot be specified with 4WD..hence giving
you a nice example that a 2WD engine can be mated to a 4WD
transmission..You should be eating your words because you only ask
me to state an example of a 2WD engine mated to a 4WD
drivetrain..the 2.0 TFSI engine first appeared on the Golf GTi, a
2WD car..so this 2.0 TFSI engine is INDEED a 2WD engine..now it can
be mated to the Quattro 4WD drivetrain in the A4..isn't this an
example enough?
Edit: typo
Added: If you want example, there are TONS of it..
1) The 3.5-litre V6 engine in the E-class or C-class or S-class is
also in the ML-class, which is 4WD..
2) The 4.2-litre supercharged V8 in the XJR/XKR/S-Type R also can
be found in the Range Rover Sport Supercharged..it's essentially
the same engine except that it has been tuned for more low-down
torque in the Range Rover Sport..
3) The 2.5-litre I6 and 3.0-litre I6 in the 3- or 5-series can be
found in the BMW's X3 which has the xDrive 4WD transmission..
How many more examples do you need?
u didn't give an examples of 2WD engines that can be mated to a
4WD drivetrain. u've just given an examples of an engines which are
designed to accomodate both 4WD and 2WD drivetrain. in the case of
the TS, he cited an imaginary engine (H20A1), which purportedly is
designed for 2WD, and imagined it would fit on the evo x's AWD
drivetrain. the fact is, none of honda's H series engines will ever
be able to accomodate a 4WD drivetrain. they are designed to
accomodate ONLY 2WD trannies and thats the way it is. why do u need
to show so many examples which doesn't change the fact that if an
engine is not designed to accomodate 4WD, it can never be mated to
a 4WD tranny?
look, i dun have all day to argue with you while u squeeze ur face
blue editing each and every one of ur posts. unlike u, i have a
life. rite until now, u missed the whole point of the topic with ur
keen pursuit of issues which have absolutely no bearing on the evo
x.
i dun care if u can quote me a thousand examples of cars with 2WD
and AWD variants using the same engine. not only have u missed the
whole point of the thread, u have missed the whole point of an
argument in futility which u urself had originated. unless u can
show a more intelligent or surmountable cause in ur arguments, this
will be my last reply to u in this topic.
