Someone asked how Buddha got the name Buddha? To me this is his religious name , is this true?

What is the significance of Vesek Day, is that the day he become monk or received enlightenment?

Buddha means the "awaken" or "enlightened' one

Vesak Day celebrates Buddha's birthday,which on that day,in a temple, normally you can see a statue of infant Buddha in a small bath with him pointing to the sky. You take the ladle to "bath" Buddha.

nope, I've no religion, though I've knowledge of various religions and respect/understand their purpose. If we can allow ourselves to see and feel beyond ourselves, and not put ourselves in the centre of the universe, we'll know that there is only One.

It'll be very enriching to meditate and contemplate on a very fundamental question: what is the most basic reason anyone has a religion?

Look at the chaotic world we live in: millions have been killing each other, and are still doing so, in the name of their religion. If one does not know the true reason for having a religion or belief, the heart remains closed to the Truth of Life, for many lifetimes, till one finally awakens.

cannot always use or blame on karma, as how it works, its complex.as for miraculous healing, I think there should be an explanation for it.

At first I thought could be due to will power but my neighbour's son is only a young boy (about 5 years old). Such a young boy, what does he know about will power ?

I am very curious to know why some poeple can be cured but some people cannot be cured. Really puzzles me.

No, this is not hearsay. I see the boy every other day because he is my next block neighbour. He was bald when he was under treatment but now he is a healthy boy who can swim and run. I used to talk to his parents.

Regarding the person in charge of Buddhist Lodge, that is hearsay but I heard the same version of the story too many times, each time from different person. Thus, should be true right ?

I also heard during a Dharma talk when those who were healed spoke of their miracle recoveries when the monk asked about their experiences with Buddha. Of course, it was not just about prayers, they went through treatment.

Nice to know that. MY friend is disappointed coz when she goes round seeking help, there are some who insinuated that it is all in her mind (think too much, mental problem) and that she does not need spiritual help. I have encounters with the unclean spirits a few times, and those times a couple of people also said the same to me. After I sought spiritual help, the problem stopped.

She is mature and sound enough to tell the difference between it is all in the mind and spiritual problem.

If she does not intend to do anything about it, just advise her to超度her 冤亲债主(debtors) during the 7th month or Qing Ming Festival. Many Buddhists and non Buddhists do that, you can also do it. Have to register before the 7th month. I know Buddhist Lodge has it during the 7th month (any amount) but do not know whether they have it during Qing Ming Festival. If not, ask her to check with other Buddhist temples during Qing Ming Festival.

Sometimes冤亲债主 will not follow you or possess you but will create havoc in your life.

To her she has to do something to solve it. She tried the 冤亲债主, but did not work.

Personally, I have gone to the Singapore Buddhist Lodge for what you mentioned. I was told anyone can go for it.

Oh it did not work, then must be a difficult case. I guess only monks or medium can help.

I think so, too. So now she is cracking her mind deciding which one to go to. She has been going round to buddhist and taoist temples for help but the spirit is still there. The last time she went to taosit temple, after prayers from shifu, situation did improve a little though the spirit still disturbing.
