Natural burial vs cremation in buddhism

Buddha was cremated, and so did many Buddhists. My Master says it is a cleaner, more hygienic choice.

budda bone got those small colourful pearl.

Normal beings will not have.

Is that true?

I remembered there were flowers and colourful crystals among the ashes of the old abbot of Bright Hill Temple (宏船老法师). These were published on the newspaper then. Simply amazing.

My mum got 7 and my grandma got 12 shariras. We discard in the sea as they wish for that.

They must be Buddhists, am I right ?

But then I remembered the Tibetan practice.

I'm not sure if this is legal in Singapore, though that's one of the choices one can consider, though not very popular in our particular culture.

The Parsees of India also practice sky burial, they have built a tower of tower of silence within the city, where the vultures come to feed.

However with declining vulture population, there is a problem. So now they have now added solar panels to hasten the decomposition!

Cremation is better...

Burial- the body decomposes and become smelly. Takes up more space too.

I heard (I think taoist point of view) lah.....during cremation where coffin pushes in the burner, family have to shout out the name of the decease to ask him to come out.

2) Cremation will make the decease buring hot, he will feel hot and get burn, I mean in his soul.

This is actually a good idea, especially in remote regions of Tibet.

However I'm not sure if Singapore allows it, for hygiene and other reasons.

I think majoirty of the sporean prefer burial or cremation.

There is also sea burial, saw it in the tv. And Govt actually approve it.

I have always entertained the idea of my body being cut in pieces and left to rot and then used as fertiliser! Wonder the fruits fertilised by me will taste? Ha! Ha!

Natural burial is not normal burial, they wrap your body with decompostable cloth and lay you to rest with no tombstone.It's more ecofriendly than cremation and is catching on in the west.Besides Buddha never said that we all must follow his way of cremation upon death.

Why buddha never go for natural burial if it's more green?Perhaps his perception went beyond the mundane?
