In response to Zeezee's question:
hey eternal, i a 21 young man. i wish to know join free
talks and sharing sessions in temples or places alike, learn more
about buddhist teachings and maybe help out in volunteer work. any
recommendations? thanks~
Hi Zeezee, glad more young people like me (i'm 19 hehe)
interested in Buddhism... The dharma center I attend is at No. 30
Geylang Lorong 27 Citiraya Centre #05-01, across Aljunied MRT
Station. We have activities on Saturday nights 7.30 to 10 p.m
almost every week.
This saturday there isn't talks but only singing and chanting.
Next saturday there will be dharma sharing by our students (mostly
about their experiences of coming into buddhism, how they have been
transformed etc). 7th Nov there wont be activities as they might be
attending the great compassionate repentance (a puja).
On 14th Nov and 21th Nov our dharma teacher will be giving
dharma talks (titled '既得人身当修行' and '谈"心"的作用' respectively) on very
important dharma topics which I would highly recommending coming.
We will also be playing a dharma talk by our Taiwanese teacher (our
Master's successor) on 5th December titled '建立修行的条件', then another
talk by our local dharma teacher on 12th December (什么是人乘佛教).
Oh and... you can take home our dharma cds and books found on
the shelves. Most are in Chinese (it is easy to read and
understandable and if you don't like reading there's always CDs)
but there are a few books in English and many English magazines
also. Almost all of them are free for distribution (except a few
'imported' from Taiwan, those published in Singapore are free).
Our local dharma center website: http://www.humanbliss.com.sg/ (newly revamped and
many good articles)
