After visiting the tibetan buddhist temple in sg, I am confused. Does tibetan buddhism include the taoist statues?

Fantagf SG

Is tibetan buddhism also known as mi ji?

Hi Hkkoh, I noticed you created two threads on Tibetan Buddhism with the same topic name.

I'm combining them into one, here.

Here's your other post:

Hi, I would like to practice Tibetian Buddhism and I saw alot of centers conducting classes on that and have no idea which one to go to.

Any advise. Thxs

Not really. Are you sure those are Taoist statues? Buddhism have our own protectors, etc.

I went to the tibetan temple, saw the statue of ji gong (the man who carries the fan) there in the altar

Which Tibetan temple?

Anyway that's interesting.

Anyway ji gong can be considered a Buddhist figure, not necessarily Taoist. He was a Buddhist monk from the Ch'an school.

the tibetan temple off Lavendar

Ch'an/Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that emphasizes meditation, koan training etc to gain enlightenment. It is considered direct in its approach to realize the nature of mind.

There's not only one Tibetan temple at Lavendar if I'm not wrong...

Do you know the name?

Hi i belief the tibetan temple which Fantagf saw that offers ji gong is THEKCHEN CHO-LING MONASTERY 大乘禅寺.http://www.thekchencholing.org .which they do really offer ji gong which is an arhat according to buddhism teaching.

Cool, which guru which monastery?

As for what things to present to guru, I'm not too sure sorry, guess you have to ask the people at the place.

Fantagf SG

Yes, this is the temple. If you people need prayers, be prepared to pay for at least few hundred dollars.

Everything is money.
