Planning the Demise of Buddhism

An Eternal Now SG

Is the existence of devas scientific?

This requires no scientific proving. It is the experience of countless meditators for millenias that there exists other realms/dimensions. Science accepts the possibility of this but has not proven this theory. Meditators had, for thousands of years. Meditation is itself the scientific method to discover spiritual truths.

I should add that we Buddhists should place all our efforts and focus on gaining insights than getting distracted in the pursuit of powers. We can seek for that after we have gained wisdom (enlightenment) or it may arise naturally.

Before that it becomes a distraction on the path, can increase attachments, and add a host of problems to the practitioner.

Is the existence of devas scientific?

Perhaps you will be convinced when you manage to find a scientist with high cultivation in mediation or spiritual power. Look for this type of person. He will be the best man to answer your question.

Seriously what is so great about their christian god ? Their god is still in samsara , ours are already out of that suffering.

There is no such thing as a scientist with high cultivation, he'll tell you to kindly report to IMH and look for the answer there.

Herzog_Zwei SG

Can you prove to us that meditation is scientific? The truth is really the opposite. Please do not insist that Buddhism is about science, it is about spirituality.

Obviously you are totally ignorant of the fact that there are many many scientists out there who are Buddhists.

I have already shown you before what falls under the criteria of a scientific method.

I have already shown you before what falls under the criteria of a scientific method.

And I mentioned it before that it methodlogical not scientific in nature.

Then why you still come here?

If you are trying to change us to be like you, well I'm afraid you are wasting your precious time. If you are trying to impress us with your science knowledge then you may be doing exactly the opposite....

And since you find the answers or explainations here in BWB to your questions and doubts are ridiculous or unacceptable to you, then I suggest that maybe you can go somewhere else where you think you can finally learn something solid. Then maybe you can come here again to teach us. Now that will be a win -win situation for all of us, instead of you repeating the same questions and denying everything with a closed mind.

Herzog_Zwei SG

Then why you still come here?

Since Buddhists likes to equate Buddhism with reality and scientific facts, I like to educate about the reality of things which happens to be opposite. In fact, I tend to enter my views in the Atheism forum but it seems that BWB forumites like to confuse the public on certain views of reality.

Then why you still come here?

Since after your education ( or trolling?), we still cannot agree with you then don't you think you are wasting your valuable time here as we think you are the one confusing yourselves with reality? As for the public, well, what makes you think that they are confused in BWB? If they are confused or mislead, or maybe even disgusted, they will go away. You don't have to worry. We are not a cult or anything.

So, yes, please continue your show or perfomance in the Atheism forum. Its more fun for you. Same here, I may take a look but will not post in any Atheism forums as there's no point in purposely disturbing the good rapport among the forumers and ambience there.

Thank you for your kind concern and education, but I'm not sure whether you are as qualified enough as you thought you are to be able to do that in BWB... a Buddhism Forum that is.
