but i think from what i hear at church , they do critisize others , saying abt other religion praying to idol or clay ............

and yet they emphasize on worldly things more than us.

I really like churches that r solemn , it's really magnificient .

Not so much on the chuch, but that the traditional european building structure really look unique and cooling.

All religion are OK 1 unless it's a cult .

buddhism r widely misinterpreted because even some non-buddhist think that buddha is a god .

When i was very young ,at age of 5 , I used to feel church are very solemn and sombre .

This is a result of past live which i could be a christian for many lifetime

After I know about Buddhism for 15 years , I feel Buddhism closer to my heart as in the guardian is side by side then the angel flying high up there

My view towards other religions is that, they are not good and correct in all entirety.

I think what he meant is, that they do not teach the way to Enlightenment or Nirvana. All if not most teach "Cease Evil, do Good", but fail to mention "Purify the Mind", which is the essential teachings of the Buddha-Dharma.

As for structures, while we asians think that eurpoean church architecture like St Andrew's Cathedral are very nice and cool; on the other hand, europeans and americans love asian architecture like our temples. Get what i mean?

Jesus also have strict rules on how to enter kingdom of god , nt as easy as most christian think .

When a person can never have faith in anything, where does his spiritual standing belong?

That is not brainwashing. Brainwashing is to demand unquestionable acceptance *without discussion* of the words even if you do not understand it.

Buddhism is about brainwashing as there's no actual proof of statement in Buddhism.

Nope. Some have scientific proof, and others can be proven experientially.

During the era of the Buddha, there are some 300 plus religions (still exists today in India), each espousing that their religion is the one and only, and that their god, deva, brahma or deity are the one and supreme, all things being created by him, and our salvation is to be thru him also.

Are there any difference between the ancient past and the present era, that these religions all espousing the same, that their almighty ones created the world and universe, and salvation is to be thru him.

Buddhism is like a fresh breath of air from these god religions (mono or poly). In the history of mankind, no other religions teaches one can obtain salvation thru oneself, that applies to both man and women.

If you read the history, you will know that Buddhism does not cause bloodshed /wars by its followers, who practise tolerance towards other faiths.

Buddha advocated that truth can be found in other religions. Thats the spirit of free enquiry and tolerance towards other faiths.

There is a saying by Buddha.

"If one spits at the heavens, the spit comes back and soil oneself. Similarly if one criticises other religions, it soils one religion.

You have to understand about the truths on religions, how its came about.

During the prehistory ie before history was recorded, mankind were primitive and lives in caves and mountains. Their activities centred on hunting, procreation and survival.

Thunders, natural disasters, tsunamis and so forth, they rekcon it was the works created by an almighty god to punish them. So they practises canibalism, animals sacrifises, praying and worshipping to trees, heavens, rivers and so forth in the hope that the god would not punish them via these natural phenomenon.

Even the concept of god was created by mankind. If you think that god created all these wonderful things for mankind, like universes, earth, planets, rivers, mountains, then if he is so almighty, why then did he create wars, sickness, natural disasters, comets, disabilities and so forth.

Having said that, mankind has progresses without the aid of any supreme being. Technology and science have revealed so much things about our earth, planets, mountains. BY the way, mountains were created by movement of tectonic plates moving against each other.

I do not believe any religion in the world claimed that heaven is in the moon. That would be weird.

I think a buddhist should avoid arousing emity with anyone from different religion background who is arguing about their belief and enjoying putting down on other's belief. I do feel argument about religious differences are quite pointless but it could be good for sharing of knowledge occasionally. The attitude and the way one puts it through is very important. How you carry yourself will be perceived by others.

Well, different religious have some common background and of course, differences. However, i don't think it is the differences that is tearing people apart but rather a lack of understanding. A sentence caught my eye, in one of the above article : A biased mind, which never sees the complete picture, cannot grasp the reality..

How true.. As a common ground rule, any human should reason, to question, to see things for themselves before plunging down to maybe hell before believing in anything. We should learn to practise wisdom, in some common sense when come to seeing things, not to be overly-dogmatic or overly-skeptic..

We can be scientist when come to exploring spiritual teachings.

We can be gentlemen in discussion about religions.

I do think, religion is meant to be applied to improve one's quality of life and not for arguing sake nor creating further suffering.

Thats the truth, and i bet many christians dont even know. The protestants community ( including charismatic, methodist, evangalist etc) teach christians that they only need faith to go heaven. Sounds so easy. Then people dont even bother to think that nothing comes easy. So everyone thinks that they pray to God then can go heaven.
