just curious, who taught you to chant this mantra in front of avaloketishvara, although it is nothing wrong to do this.
Some mantra such as this was actually being "borrowed" by other religion due to its very fast effect.

the Seven Buddha Extinguishing mantra is Requested by Manjusri abt the
heinous karma of the future sentient beings how they can repent

thus the words Qi Fo mie Zui zhen yan

Means the Seven Buddha , even including Gaya Buddha recite the Mantra to repent of Heavy Karmic Offense

Mantra are supposed to be recited by one not to let Bodhisattva statue just to hear but sincerely repent one grave offense
