Until this saga ends… please continue with your Words of Blessing for the South Koreans Christians held hostage…

Regarding of the conflicts and whatever differences we have, we are the same - > being a human.

May this situation be resolved peacefully soon.

May all be well and happy.

That’s so nice… thanks, on behalf of the hostages for your kind words.

AndrewPKYap SG

This is so gratifying...

Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 Afghans poured onto the streets to protest against the abduction of 23 South Korean hostages by Taliban militants, saying it was un-Islamic. A protester said, Shame on Taliban kidnapping women.

May the hostages know our hopes and loves for them even though we are thousand of miles away from where they are. (It might be possible that human consciousness has a universal component; that consciousness is a fundamental fabric of the universe like gravity which pervades the entire universe as one but at the same time acting locally, in individuals. Please do not underestimate your thoughts of kindness and words of blessing for the hostages).

Beyond Religion SG

I wish to point out a verse in the Dhammapada (which incidentally was adopted by Neutral Onliner as his sig):

Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal rule

May the hostage taker hear of the wisdom of this verse and cease to do any more harm and release all hostages. May all beings be at peace.

Taliban militants extended until midday Friday (0730 GMT) the deadline to negotiate the release of the remaining 22 kidnapped South Koreans now in their ninth day of captivity.

0730 GMT is 1530 Singapore time....

I bless the hostages....

AndrewPKYap SG

Herzog_Zwei SG

May the 22 South Koreans die peacefully so that the world may become a more peaceful place.

AndrewPKYap SG

Be careful whatever you wish for falls on yourself or your own family…

I think it will be better to keep our prayers to ourselves instead of flooding in the thread which results to this.

Prayers are sincere and genuine wishes that a person would like to target to others. Maintain the focus and genuinity is more important than that of posting.

We are not judges of kamma so I think we ought to refrain such negative and unwholesome comment.

dumbdumb! SG

hmm i don't think the talibans will kill everyone, if not no bargaining chip liao. Neutral

AndrewPKYap SG

Just a gentle reminder/warning...

I believe there is a place for quiet personal meditations and a place of explicit declarations...

It is like two people might know that they love each other but there is a place for a wedding ceremony...

I believe that when you put it down to words it seals your blessing in a way that a hidden blessing cannot.

AndrewPKYap SG

That is rational sane people thinking... I would not trust their "logic" ... still, we hope for the best.

NGOs tense after Taliban kill hostage

07/27/2007
THE ASAHI SHIMBUN

Japanese nongovernmental organizations were on edge Thursday while the Foreign Ministry urged Japanese to evacuate certain cities in Afghanistan amid the escalating crisis over South Korean hostages held by the Taliban.

An official at the Japanese Embassy in Kabul said Japanese in Afghanistan have remained relatively calm since the bullet-ridden body of one of the Taliban's 23 South Korean hostages was found.

However, at Japanese NGO offices in Tokyo, concerns are rising that foreign workers in Afghanistan could increasingly become the target of terrorists.

As you can see, they are not the only volunteers in Afghanistan...

I bless the hostages with all of my being... may the deadline pass peacefully for them...

Anxiety in South Korea as hostage deadline nears

It was a night of anxiety across South Korea as the fate of 22 of its citizens held hostage in Afghanistan hung in the balance. The Taliban has reportedly threatened to kill them by midday unless the government in Kabul releases captured fighters. This latest ultimatum came after the killing of one hostage.

First thing, you are in no position to warn anyone in this forum.

Second, to the best of my knowledge, this is a forum meant for buddhists. Of course it is definitely okay for buddhists to have well wishes for others but I hope that you do not promote your personal thinking amongst this thread.

Your intention might meant well but your recent postings seem to suggest that you're getting a little emotional.

AndrewPKYap SG

One more minute… please pour out your blessings….

An Eternal Now SG

I think everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, though in Buddhism we do not differentiate 'hidden' or 'non-hidden' blessings..

Anyway no need to argue on these things lah Wink 'Warning' sounds negative, like threatening someone..

Anyway those who wish to say their prayers are all welcome to post.

AndrewPKYap SG

Thanks...

deadline passed... no news...
