It is this hope that sustain many human in times of tribuation.
This is the essence of any religion.
Unlike all religions which offers hope of salvation as some
place out of our planet somewhere in the future or after you die,
Buddhism is the only realistic teaching that teaches that true
salvation is in attaining insights/wisdom and clarity in our very
lives... and not some future place. (All 'places' in samsara, under
time and space, are conditioned, impermanent, and is of the nature
of dukkha/suffering)
It is possible in Buddhism to awaken to our unconditioned reality,
clarity and bliss in this very life, through Dharma. If you awaken
to this unconditioned reality, you remain unaffected by any sort of
tribulations that is happening, even if the whole world is going to
be destroyed. You are like the mirror (our Buddha Nature, our pure
awareness) that reflects everything without getting engaged nor
attached to any appearances. All appearances arise and passes
instantaneously (impermanence), leaving no trace in the mirror. The
mirror neither rejects unpleasant appearance nor pursues pleasant
appearances, nor attaches to any appearances. The mirror just
reflects, non-judgementally... The mirror is the reflection itself.
Our Buddha Nature is Luminous-Emptiness inseparable. By cultivating
awareness we get in touch with our true nature.
The reason why we are suffering is because we are identified with
being a separate self, which is an illusion. We think there is a
dualistic relation between Self and the world, and therefore we try
our best to get what is pleasant (fundamental attraction) and get
rid of the unpleasant (fundamental aversion). We are constantly
trying to fulfill the sense of self... so we keep perpetuating the
sense of a seperate self and split.. and we become so attached and
do not know how to let go. We did not realise our true nature as
the non-dual mirror mind, that there is only Oneness and the whole
universe is of the same all-pervading essence which is
luminous-emptiness... we do not realise there is no duality, no
inner and outer, no subject-object separation. If we awaken to the
truth, there will be no suffering, there will be no constant
striving nor aversion and the mind will be still and
blissful.
Like I said.. the bliss of Nirvana is undescribable and is not
conditioned by anything, Nirvana is beyond time and space.

separation) attraction and aversion to phenomena.
