Two boys have been recognised as the yangsi of HH Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje. Multiple rebirths of great lamas are not all that unusual .

Khyabje Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche
Kyabje Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche was born in the Iron Horse Year of the 17th Rabjung Cycle (1990) in Kyegudo (Yuesue County of Qinghai Province in China) to Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche's own son, Dola Tulku Jigmed Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, and his wife Pema Khandro. Following many auspicious signs including rainbows and there was much speculation as to who this child might be the rebirth of even before he was born. It was the terton and wisdom dakini, Tare Khandro (Tare Lhamo), the daughter of another great terton in Golok, Aphang Terton who first recognised him as the tulku of HH Dudjom Rinpoche. Ven. Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche III came to see Yangsi Rinpoche in Kyegudo and gave him the name "Pema Osel" (Lotus Light). While Dzongshar Rinpoche performed important initiations for Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche, three layers of rainbows appeared above the roof of the house. After receiving a letter from Tare Khandro, His Holiness Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche said he believed the child to be the Dudjom tulku and wrote to HH Dudjom Rinpoches eldest son, HH Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche who agreed with his view and visited the young tulku in Chengdu, Sichuan to meet Yangsi Rinpoche in 1993.

His Holiness the 14th the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, is the head of state and spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. He was born Lhamo Dhondrub on 6 July 1935, in a small village called Taktser in northeastern Tibet. Born to a peasant family, His Holiness was recognized at the age of two, in accordance with Tibetan tradition, as the reincarnation of his predecessor the 13th Dalai Lama, and thus an incarnation Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion.

"When others insult, rebuke and speak unpleasant words to us, although an intolerable pain arises like a thorn at the heart, if we comprehend the teachings then we can recognize the essenceless nature of these words which resemble an echo. So just as when an inanimate object is scolded, we will experience not the slightest mental turmoil. "

Welcome to the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery website. This Drukpa Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist Nunnery was founded in 2000 for young women from Tibet and other Himalayan regions like Ladakh, Spiti, and Kinnaur. Here the nuns practice meditation and study Buddhist Philosophy, ritual, English and other practical skills.

At present in 2005 there are 35 nuns living and studying at the Nunnery, part of which is still under construction. It is situated about 6 kilometres from Khampagar Monastery, seat of His Eminence Khamtrul Rinpoche, the Spiritual Director of DGL Nunnery, at Tashi Jong in the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. We hope to eventually train up to 100 nuns, helping them to realise their spiritual potential.

One of the main objectives of this Nunnery in the future is to train a group of nuns in the Togdenma tradition. This precious lineage of spiritually realised yoginis dedicated to enlightenment will be of immense benefit in providing qualified female meditation teachers in the Tibetan tradition.

[edit] Foundation
The Drukpa school was founded in western Tibet by Tsangpa Gyare (1161-1211) who mastered the Tantric Buddhism practices of the mahamudra and six yogas of Naropa at an early age. As a terton, or finder of spiritual relics, he discovered the text of the Six Equal Tastes, previously hidden by Rechungpa, the student of Milarepa. While on a pilgrimage Tsangpa Gyare and his disciples witnessed a set of nine dragons roaring out of the earth and into the skies, as flowers rained down everywhere. From this incident they named their sect Drukpa.

Gharwang Rinpoche paid a glorious visit to Gandan Thupten Nyalig as invited and returned the offerings he received back to the devotees without slightest pang of attachment. This was the first time such an event ever took place.

Apart from that, Rinpoche made extensive spiritual tours visiting Zurmang Dudtsi Thil, Jakhi Gon, Dogon Phuntsok Ling, Tharthon Gon, Kyarong Gon and Palmea Gon respectively, donating different amounts of money respectively.

With unflinching sincere commitment in the efforts of promoting the precious doctrine of Lord Buddha he provided salaries to those three Dupkang retreat center, of upper and lower shrine of protector for seven years with generosity and ever since then he had paid series of visits there.

Among the numerous visits he had made there, the second visit was in conformity with death anniversary of Zurmang 11th Tenga Rinpoche in 1993 bearing purest motivation to relieve the grief of devotees and the mother of Tenga Rinpoche, who had departed the world in 1992 owing to the exhaustion of the merit of the devotees.

With boundless affection and infinite compassion for the living and welfare of the monks who came to both the upper and lower monasteries from various places with pure purpose of spiritual pursuit, Gharwang Rinpoche gave 300 Yuans to each of them as a warm gesture of encouragement to retain their soaring spiritual commitment forever.

He also donated more than 100000 Yuans to two groups of Zurmang Yu Dok. With deepest sympathy towards the mother and sons of late Tenga Rinpoche over his physical departure, he bestowed presents upon them symbolizing his solidarity.

His third visit there was during the ceremonial enthronement of the reincarnation of Tenga Rinpoche in 1996. Rinpoches benevolent deeds in Tibet were met with great success and later he returned to Sikkim, India.

Marked by a character of unshakable determination and altruism in both previous lives and the present, Rinpoche has made unsurpassed efforts to propagate and preserve Buddhism. He has compassionately been running and providing all required facilities for two monastic institutions of the Zurmang tradition, one in Tibet and another in Sikkim, India.

Master Cheng Yen, founder of Tzu Chi Foundation presides over a small Buddhist temple in Hualien, Taiwan and Tzu Chi's worldwide charity program.

Master Cheng Yen's life experiences inspired her to search for a form of Buddhism that would reflect unconditional love through action. Many past incidents shaped her vision and she felt a higher calling. When her father had died of a heart attack, she felt guilty. In his passing, she felt that she had erred in caring for him. Later, at a hospital, she witnessed a penniless, aborigine woman be denied medical attention while bleeding on the floor. Another time, a Catholic missionary said to her, "You Buddhists are a passive group and ignore the needs of others." Master Cheng Yen was determined to serve all humanity. She envisioned a world of kindness, compassion, joy and equality.
