Ven. Dongsung Shabdrung Rinpoche's programme

The most Ven. Dongsung Shabdrung Rinpoche will be visiting Singapore from 10/1/2007 to 31/1/2007. Rinpoche was recognized as the 4th incarnate of the elder brother of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa (Rangjung Rigpe Dorje) who was the 3rd Shabdrung Rinpoche at the age of 8 years by His Holiness Sakya Trizin and His Eminence Shamar Rinpoche.

He is the main spiritual instructor of Dhongtsang Monastery (Sakya lineage) located in Qing Hai, China, and is viewed to be the emanation of Sangye Yeshe (Buddha's Wisdom), one of the 25 heart disciples of Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava. He has received the entire cycle of Sakya tantric teachings and transmissions from His Holiness Sakya Trizin Rinpoche and received many other important teachings and empowerments of the Sakya, Nyingma and Kagyu Lineage from His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche, His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa
Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.

Rinpoche has recently conducted a Mani Project at Karma Kagyu Dharma Society in Kuala Lumpur.

All are welcome to join in our programme. Rinpoche would be pleased to do house lessings for members and devotees during his stay. Those who are keen may contact the Centre's administrators to make necessary arrangements.

8 pm) and Sat (1 pm to 9 pm).

3 long life Deities Puja & White Tara Initiation:
The practice of White Tara has the benefits of gaining longevity and good health. Tara is believed to have been formed from the tears of compassion of Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig, Mandarin: Guan Yin), who saw that despite his efforts to liberate all sentient beings from the sufferings of samsara, there were still countless who were trapped in samsara.

Garuda Initiation:
The Garuda symbolizes freedom from hopes and fears, the vast mind without reference point. It is a powerful antidote to the negative influences of Nagas (spirits) which can cause diseases.

As for initiation the why and what ... there are many explanations and teachings about it on the Internet, furthermore I am not qualify to attempt explaining.

mmm im quite new to Tibetan's buddhism.

I notice about Green Tara's puja. It is difficult to learn to recite?

Hi Isis,

Dress Code: comfortable because you need to sit on the floor for about 1.5hrs; but no shorts preferred.

Green Tara is often the first initiation most of us took. But don't get me wrong, it is by no means a low practice. Mother Tara is most love by many Vajrayana Buddhists, new or seasoned.

When you are there, just follow the instruction and do what you can understand. No one is there to catch you if you do right or wrong. So, be relax and receive blessing, don't worry too much.
