Just finished watching the video. I feel that the author is biased against buddhism and in the video, he makes buddhism sound like a cult just because buddhism is an atheist religion and say what buddhism teaches ppl to inflict sufferings and pain on themselves. Then, he also keep quoting from the Quran and keep praising Islam as the best religion. The threadstart obviously got some bad motives. Mad

The person you have quoted has been making similar if not worse comments in the Christian forums as well. Nonetheless, he has apologised, but this only goes to show how misunderstanding can happen across any religion. Our aim should be to promote understanding and harmony between different religions, and not intentionally provoke or cause strife among others.

I do not know him well and I think he stated that he isn't completely Buddhist... Razz There are many people who appreciate the philosophies of Buddhism but isn't really a Buddhist strictly speaking.. and a Buddhist is one who has taken refuge in the triple gems (buddha, dharma, sangha)

But I believe trying to argue and fight over religious things is pointless. Finding common ground is more constructive and useful. I do agree with many things in Christianity as well..

My apologies for that, it's just that I find it ironic how he is complaning about others here when he himself has been doing similar things to a different religion. It seems kind of hypocritical to me. Nonetheless, I acknowledge he is not a true buddhist.

the author is creating a bad kamma for himself / herself already, this is a very bad kamma to commit, by slandering.

This reminds me of a Malaysian Muslim who has a nasty habbit of bashing all other religions... Among other things he has written a "book" (I use the term 'book' loosely here...) purportedly 'reviewing' Buddhism, and called for the eradication of Christianity.

Well, as a learning buddhst, you are taught not to believe everything you are told. You are suppose to investigate, practise and experience it for yourself.

It's no good criticising others when you have absolutely no understanding of how the theory works.
