used to be fan of x-men comics. any u watched The Last Stand.
i find it quite untrue, when Professor Charles Xavier, a telepath, probably an omnipath was defeated by Jean Grey(class 5), a telekinesis and some telepath second to Professor X. ok, maybe she assorbed the power of the divine entity of the Phoenix. but then what do u think?
one who can control mind vs one who can control matter?
who's most poweful?

Power corrupts people so do you think such powers is nice? Rolling Eyes

Indeed it is one who can 'control mind' that is much more powerful than one who can 'control matter' Smile Under the spell of delusion our mind leads us towards all sorts of realms in Samsara unaware (even in this lifetime!), creating all sorts of karma. Therefore we need to develope the wisdom to see this and conquer our 'self-serving-habits' and be very mindful of our mind, speech, action.

Better the man that conquer a thousand thousand men is the one who conquer one, himself. - Buddha

control mind just brainwaves which are weak amounts of energy

controlling matter using huge amounts of energy which can also block out brain waves Twisted Evil

I thought you all got studied the powers of buddhism and should understand the "whys" and "hows"...... Confused

Actually if you watch the movie, after the credits finished (yes my friend knew that and told us to stay for that), there is about a 10 second scenes where charles is speaking and is revived in a hospital. Wink Meaning he is not dead.. somehow.

By the way controlling the mind have a lot of stages and a lot of people can have different understandings Mr. Green

maggot SG

He moves his mind onto another body Twisted Evil

As long his mind is not dead he can live forever by keep moving to another body when the last body dies off Surprised Laughing

An Eternal Now SG

Hmm but that wouldn't explained how he got the same voice Wink

maybe in terms of technique of telepath..Professor X is better than Jean. but in terms of inner strength (nai gong), like when we watch chinese ancient fighting movies, jean got more 'nai gong'. Mr. Green
or Professor X had not develope ominpath till after the event.

fyi, in the realm of samsara, matter is over mind, depending on which of the 6 realms. the more lower the realm, the more matter/karma is in control. the higher the realm, the more the mind is in control.
in the realm of nirvana , mind is over matter per se.

No matter how strong professor charles telepathy power, it has only little effect on Jean, bcoz Jean's telepathy is second to professor while professor's telekinesis is nothing compare to Jean's one. Furthermore there is this Magneto to sabotage.
Anyway, professor already scored one point before when he managed to subdue Jean and take her into lab. Too bad later on released by the wolverine.

One thing is I wonder since professor charles was later on torn into pieces, how does he again recovering in hospital.

And what is the use for such powers really? Buddha is wise.

http://www.angelfire.com/realm/bodhisattva/siddhi.html

One day the Buddha met an ascetic who sat by the bank of a river. This ascetic had practised austerities for 25 years. The Buddha asked him what he had received for all his labor. The ascetic proudly replied that, now at last, he could cross the river by walking on the water. The Buddha pointed out that this gain was insignificant for all the years of labor, since he could cross the river using a ferry for one penny!

Aiyah, one who controls the mind have the wisdom mah... He knows that the body is transient, what is important is the spirit..

That's why Prof. Xavier voluntarily let Phoenix obliterate his physical form...cuz in X4, Xavier will be back. (You didnt watch the clip after all the end credits) Mr. Green

An Eternal Now SG

Hmm.. I think its a trilogy meaning x-men 3 is the last one. The last part is meant to be a suspense Wink

Too wise i should say because the sequence of the powers written on the sutras

You need to attain the first one in the sequence before able to reach another Sad

The wise part is there is a power that allows the person to see the cause and effect of each action he/she make Mr. Green

After this power will be the power everyone is dreaming of Twisted Evil
