In the triad of enlightened qualities unlimited compassion
(Avalokiteshvara/Kuan Yin), unlimited wisdom (Manjushri) and
unlimited power, Vajrapani represents the aspect of pure power, the
energy of the enlightened mind.
Within a big blaze of transformative flames he dances ecstatically,
exorcising the ugly demons of greedy entanglement with a
threatening gesture; transforming hatred into wisdom with his
diamond thunderbolt-sceptre that symbolizes the indestructibility
of awareness beyond concepts.
Vajrapani is an emanation of Buddha Akshobya; historically he was a
great patron of Buddha Shakyamunis teachings. It was him who
requested the Buddha to teach many of the Tantras that are
practiced today.
Vajrapani will be the last of the Buddhas to appear in this
fortunate eon, which is another indication of how immensely
fortunate we are to make a connection to Lama Tsongkhapa who is the
embodiment of Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri and Vajrapani.
His spiritual energy in the form of sound that helps to transform
the mind (Mantra) is:
