Chiliocosm, tri-sahasra-mah¨¡-sahasra-loka-dh¨¡tu
Èýǧ´óǧÊÀ½ç
tri-sahasra-mah¨¡-sahasra-loka-dh¨¡tu, a great chiliocosm; Èýǧ;
Èýǧ½ç, ÈýǧÊÀ½ç. Mt. Sumeru and its seven surrounding continents,
eight seas and ring of iron mountains form one small world; 1, 000
of these form a small chiliocosm СǧÊÀ½ç; 1, 000 of these small
chiliocosms form a medium chiliocosm ÖÐǧÊÀ½ç; a thousand of these
form a great chiliocosm ´óǧÊÀ½ç, which thus consists of 1, 000,
000, 000 small worlds. The Èýǧ indicates the above three kinds of
thousands, therefore Èýǧ´óǧÊÀ½ç is the same as ´óǧÊÀ½ç, which is
one Buddha-world.
