Anyone know who among Buddha's disciples used to be mara, but later vowed to protect Buddhadharma? And mara
normally don't vowed. See how they are reformed by Buddha! Surprised

Are we Buddha's disciples? Yes, I would think so. Then we may be the mara that vowed to protect Buddhadharma. For a mara is not an independent object, he is just a part of us. Thats why we could also be Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva as long as we let her or his compassion become ours. Thats why we could also be the Buddha if we let Anuttara-samyaksam-bodhi become us. We are all a part of the collective consciousness, we are the mara but we are also the Buddha. May our mara be reformed by our Buddha mind and vowed to protect Buddhadhmarma.

In the future, all the maras will take refuge under Maitreya Buddha.

Why?

Just look at the way he sits! The maras who seen him are happy, and calls him their patriarch. Some even claim that Maitreya Buddha has attained Buddhahood already.

Shakyamuni Buddha and Maras had bad ties in previous life due to some reasons which I cannot remember clearly now, the maras vowed to attack Shakyamuni Buddha, and although they could not do that after his Buddhahood, they continue attacking Buddhist disciples.

Maitreya Bodhisattva, however, was actually very friendly to Maras. They are friends, unlike Shakyamuni and the Maras. Shakyamuni Buddha sits in full lotus anti-mara posture, Maitreya Bodhisattva would put his legs up high when doing Dhyana in what is called the "Mara's Sitting", and maras love this.

So now you know why there are all kinds of cults about Maitreya nowadays, but in the future, those fake buddhism maras will also turn into real Buddhists Wink Maras also have the same Buddha Nature as us.

In "THE MAITREYAVYANKARNA or "The Prophecy Concerning Maitreya", "Mara, the greatly powerful, will be there, and he also will salute the leader of the world, and praise him."

yes, got all the theory and all. but i meant really. It's mention by Master Keng Yun, something to do with 'mo he'(?) naming of the disciples. He name a few or couple disciples of Buddha. but i forgot. i'm just lazy to track the audio.

Then the mara Papiyas, surrounded in front and behind by eighty billion kinsmen, went to the place of the Buddha. On reaching it, he touched his head to the Buddha's feet and paid homage to the World-honored one. Then he stated in verse....

All Buddhas of the past, present, and future, with great compassion,
Accept my homage! I repent all my evil acts.
In the two treasures of dharma and sangha, in the same way.
I sincerely take refuge without any other thought.

May I, this day, make offerings to, revere,
And venerate the guiding master of all the world.
All evils I extinguish forever and will never commit;
To the end of my life, I will take refuge in the Tathagata's dharma.

The mara Papiyas, when he had finished stating this verse, said to the Buddha, 'O World-honored one! The Tathagata, possessing a mind of equality and nondiscrimination with regard to me and all sentient beings, is always filled with joy and with compassion and forbearance.";

The Buddha said, "So it is."

Then the mara Papiyas greatly rejoined and awakened the mind of purity. Again, before the Buddha, he touched his head to the Buddha's feet in homage. He then circumambulated the Buddha three times to the right, reverently placed his palms together, and withdrew to one side, where he stood gazing at the Buddha without wearying.

Now I remember what my master said about it. Thanks for translating it. 'Kon Der Wu Liang'
I think they are non-human of 'Tien Lung Ba Bu'. But I don't know about the detail.

Btw, actually my master had reformed many mara too. They were all around my master's house protecting my master. I was told that once a dharma brother went to visit my master with disrespectful attitude and was punished by those mara. For some of those mara havent been completely reformed and still have some temper.

About demons... i saw one once (astrally)... part of it... it was too dark... i only manage to see the hands (or rather claws...)

I saw it in my house when I was in Australia. There is another Being in the house... she was a ghost... a middle-aged white woman. I strongly believe her death was caused by the demon.

The dead woman...i saw her for practically every night for 2 weeks. She appears to have died in the house and from some illness with very high fever. She was very pitiful...she did not speak to me...maybe she does not know that i can speak english as i am chinese.

I wish she has reincarnated or moved on to a better dimension/realm.

Hi, what you made you think that demons caused her to turn into a spirit?

In Buddhism, there are detailed descriptions on 36 kinds of spirits. Some of these spirits are vengeful, wanting to take revenge on certain people (humans). Some of them want to take away their lives so that they can join them in the spirit realms (people with suicidal thoughts are more vulnerable to this). etc...

We do not term all such spirits as 'demons'.. Maras usually mean differently.

Their souls or spirits have reached a condition unsuitable to go to elsewhere Crying or Very sad

It is not easy for spirits to be liberated. Some live thousands of years or perhaps longer. It requires immense merits – usually only a liberated person can liberate these spirits. The rest can attend ullabanadharma pujas, give offerings to the Sangha, and dedicate merits to the spirits in the 7th month. That would help the spirits also especially if they are there to witness the trasnference of merits.

Maybe, not directly kill her...but through influencing the minds of people around. When i was in the house, the people in the house gets violent very easily. Also, the neighbours have experienced wierd happenings and one of my neighbour even moved out after seeing something.
