Both MCK & Lao Tzu said are very ture.

I think what Lao Tzu meant is that the best law is no law as long as we can do things according to our Buddha nature (innate conscience, pure intuition...), which he called it 'Dao' or 'Wu Wei' (no-doing).

As long as the sentient mind exist,

Democracy with no law = anarchy.

Freedom with no law = chaos.

But true 'Wu Wei', is without any sentient thoughts, no dharma/law to obtain. Xin1 Sheng1 Wan4 Fa3 Sheng1, Xin1 Mie4 Wan4 Fa3 Mie4:
Ten thousand dharma/laws arise out of the mind, ten thousand dharma/laws cease with the mind. All dharmas, all laws, are made in accordance to our sentient mind.

If everyone on Earth is a Buddha, and the world is a Pure Land, everywhere are Pure Minds, then there would be no need for laws. It would be like Amitabha's pure land, for that to happen in our world it would be a very long time later, when Maitreya Bodhisattva attains Buddhahood. But the current age is the age of the 5 defilements, and laws are important so that our actions are beneficial to both Ourselves and Others, and not the opposite.

Yes, that's true. But it's not easy to do that.

First of all, we must learn not to be affected by our sentient thoughts and all thoughts. It is just like the cloud that has no influence on the sky or space. We dont actually need to eliminate all thoughts. Just let them become one part of us that we can control and direct. In time, all thoughts will be in our command, i.e. we will have direct thoughts from our Buddha nature. So we will be able to think and do things well without any attachments. I think thats how Wu Wei works. And by then, Yo Wei(doing) is Wu Wei(not-doing).

Just for your information, my master made this discourse after hed seen lots of illegal demonstrations held by protesters and those irrational conducts in the Congress of Taiwan. Taiwan is still in its infancy of democracy. So does the evolution of human beings. Its a shame to say that even we have taken refuge in Buddhism, theres still a long way for us to go. Just like what AEN said. But my master said he had foreseen the end of human evolution, by then we all would be able to return home at last.

Interesting, can you elaborate on the ‘end of human evolution’? How is it like? And how long before that would that happen?

Yes, that would be when we have completely discovered the secret of life and united all religions into one with science. Our mind would all be restored to the original state. i.e. our Buddha nature or true mind. There will be no need for law, freedom, family, society, country, the virtual Earth and finally reincarnation anymore. And our bodies would be evolved to pure energy so that we could travel beyond space and time and go back to where we belong originally. Unfortunately, my master didnt say when that will happen, I guess hed like us find it out ourselves.

Don't know much about it. Some of my elder Dharma brothers said that. I think they wouldn't emphasize it though.
