Listening is a very good idea. T'is what the disciples of Buddha
did. They LISTEN to Buddha expound the Dharma and stop their
wandering/anyhow thinking mind, hence they are called the Hearers.
To shut the ear is to shut the mind.
Another key point is to focus on one path. It's like digging for
water, if keep digging on many spots, you delay finding water. Try
to concentrate on one path. eventually, to know one is to know
all.
listen to one Master talks for 5 years, to still the mind, then you
can move on to listen to other masters. if not, you will get
confuse easily.
i recommend Master Chin Kung. There are enough to occupy a lifetime
of audio!
No need to
try to understand what He say. Just relax and listen, eventually,
it'll 'click'!
