Haha! Buddha gave teachings during His time to countless beings.
His 1st teaching He taught about the 4 noble truths. Then He taught
the Doctrine of characterlessness. And finally the Doctrine of good
differentiation.
If u have taken refuge, u'll know that the triple gems are the
Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. All buddhist who take refuge
knows.
The Sangha are representatives of the Buddha. They preach the same
teachings given to them by the Buddha. Scriptures and books are all
well kept for centuries since the passing of Buddha.
When we listen to teachings, it is very dependent on our very own
karmic imprint and mental delusional obstacle. Thus the Buddha had
to give teachings 3 times due to the mental faculties of different
people. That is why the Sangha REQUEST His widom to be transmitted.
We all hear and understand things differently, so it is very easy
to doubt that the teachings are not His.
