That's just a little faster than the previous record. The record run is said to be currently being verified by the Guiness Book of Records. With 1183 bhp, it is also the World's Most Powerful Production Car. The Ultimate Aero achieved this record despite having half the number of cylinders and superchargers. Kuali Baba SG They did have a point to prove, that such an engineering feat can be done. It wasn’t ever about the practicality or the resources (although VW made things much more difficult by demanding luxury fittings for the Veyron). It’s a bit like the space race of the last century.
