The Viennale, a filmfestival in Vienna, is celebrated from 22th
of october until 4th of november. The heartpiece of the festival is
the tribute to the philipinish regisseur Lino Brocka, who was born
in 1939 and died after a car-accident in 1991. In the seventies and
eighties of the past century he established himself as a great name
of the world-cinema. He produced between 20 years 70 films in a
Hollywoodish manner. The movies of Broka will be shown in different
cinema-theaters in Vienna. [Gartenbau,Metro,Urania,Künstlerhaus and
Stadtkino] First of all the great film “Manila in the claws of
light”, about the fate of country boy in the capital city. Then the
movy “Insinang”, a mother-daughter tragedy. Besides you can also
see a documentation-film about the life of Brocka and the
difficoulties of his partial lost film-heritage.
