Saw the trailer for Leap Years earlier on, thought it seemed
familiar.
In my secondary school days, prolly 9 years ago (hai... 想当年),
Catherine Lim came by for a talk one time and she narrated 3
stories. One of which was very similar to the storyline seen in
this trailer. I'm not so sure if she published those stories in the
end but one was of this leap year thing (i think that version was
set in the 80s, included the hotel new world collapse with a bitter
sweet ending), second one was of a woman with tattoos filled all
over her body falling in love with another man after her husband
died and I forgot the 3rd one.
She is a very engaging storyteller on stage. 
Yeah, she came to my school too her stories were pretty good
