mhcampboy SG I am so going to catch it!! Its out in USA. I think should be soon in Singapore. A revealing, witty portrait of the British royal family in crisis immediately following the death of Princess Diana. The setting for this fictional account of real events is no less than the private chambers of the Royal Family and the British government in the wake of the sudden death of Princess Diana in August of 1997. In the immediate aftermath of the Princess's passing, the tightly contained, tradition-bound world of the Queen of England clashes with the slick modernity of the country's brand new, image-conscious Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The result is an intimate, yet thematically epic, battle between private and public, responsibility and emotion, custom and action - as a grieving nation waits to see what its leaders will do. daface SG This is as much a movie on Queen Elizabeth II as it is on current British PM Tony Blair. With the movie starting from Blair's win at the elections, and being a new PM expected to usher in change, his character here is in opposites with the Queen's, one steeped in stifling tradition of the monarchy. udontknowme SG watched the news one night.... the trailer was on every break! but i dont think i wanna watch it
Gordonator SG Helen Mirren who plays the queen, won best actress in the recent golden glode awards. congrats
the Bear SG Helen Mirren is a great actor... i still think one of her best roles was in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover btw, i think campy would love any "royalty" movie i wonder how he would look at the Celtic Kings where after 7 years of rule, the king would ritually kill himself in front of his people to "go back to Mother Earth"
