same thing during the reservist too ... there were chaps who
went "sargeant, you know I injured my wrist before, I have a family
to feed outside, if I injure it again, who's going to be
responsible ? " .....
know what was that for ? .... it was during weapons conversion
training, when we were learning about the new SAR 21 .... the
farker just refused touch his weapon, didn't want to strip it,
didn't want to learn how to cock and fire it ... I don't doubt that
he won't be around by the next ICT, he'll find a way to wriggle out
somehow ....
but for one chap like him in the coy, the rest were on the ball
... we dug shellscrapes, filled hundreds of sandbags, did day and
night battle courses, platoon night attacks, MGs, matadors, blanks,
thunderflash, smokes, the full works ... and most of us were out of
shape late 20s to early 30s fellows ... while that farker napped in
the training shed most of the time ... clean and dry ...
but it's chaps like these that would make a lot of noise, get
their maids to carry their packs, and think that the SAF is a waste
of time that couldn't fight .....
