For my thesis oral defence, the prof who was evaluating me
didn't seem to have either read my thesis or even paid attention to
my presentation.....
He kept insisting that there was an important fact in my
theoretical work that I didn't raise even though I had clearly
stated it in both my thesis and my presentation.....
In the end, another prof who gatecrashed my oral defence
actually defended me, saying that I did state that fact quite
plainly and clearly. Mind you, this prof had never read my work
before and didn't even have to be there except that he had nothing
better to do that morning.
If it wasn't for that busybody prof, I'd have had a heart attack
that day.
