Reason for this topic.....just a reminder to self too..
that.
well I think that as we grow older - the values that we perceive
as most important become consciously (or unconsciously) the guiding
force behind not just our decisions, but also due to that - the
shared bonding which we seek between friends or partners....
It's quite different cos when we are younger, we tend to seek
people we are impressed by but as time go pass, and we 'filter'
through the common horde, we also become less and less tolerant of
people who do not share or agree with our own personal
values....it's not a bad thing - we only have 24 hours, we need
SOME sort of classification to prioritise the way we spend our
time.
But perhaps its also very self restricting as we surround
ourselves with people more and more like ourselves, and grow more
impatient with people that are not. It is very hard to remind
ourselves that having different values isn't the same as holding
wrong values - yes?
In the end, we all have a story behind us... and our
values are what we label the moral of our story. Different people,
different journeys, different values.
