Actually, speaking of the theories behind the movie, I think Planet Earth will first suffer from the effects of Solar Storms before the molten core can superheat to that degree. That movie was just taking a hypothesis to the extreme and showing us what can happen if the tectonic plates were to shift drastically.

Major solar storms have been predicted for next year and if so, it should be a far more frightening event than the Millenium Bug because it would then knock out entire electricity grids and even destroy radio broadcasting capabilities.

too bad the ferret had a dizzy spell and could not make it for the makan session she wanted... but zora, 7-11, hisk, av and myself had a huge feed anyway

the sashimi and sushi spread is good...

my folks was mad... Their Malaysian cheques could not be used cos they changed e paper format, macham like wat happened here years ago.

But no one told them abt e change, and worst when he called up to Malaysia side, they told him he has to 'request' for e new chequebook

anyway, it seems the waterfront HDB project at Punggol21 would be a different housing concept

It seems they've looked into the plants to be planted, the car parks (3 HDB blocks sharing 1 common car park at the basement) + shops walkway all the way to the LRT station likely on the 3rd level of the HDB blocks.

Seems there's going to be solar panels to be fitted on the rooftop + a sky garden

The scale model and the concept panels are on display at the big concourse outside TPY MRT. I'm not convinced that the whole sun-catching idea will work. Using daylight over lamps is definitely a plus but knowing S'preans, the air-con bills will hit the ceiling.

BTW, how did your trip to Japan go? Did you go there to find yourself a cute, Japanese chick and get married?

There's no such thing as watching too much anime...

The Japan trip was very, very memorable and I am seriously contemplating going there again early next year. I've posted some pictures of the trip on a thread in the SO forum.

Finding a Japanese chick to marry wasn't a top priority on the trip; the one's that did catch my eye though were, more often than not, too young...
