I've always taken the bus up to KL, to the terminal near pudu there ..... and it's with like 4 to 6 other chaps, so never encountered any probs .... but it's with the dear this time .... I'm worried ...

take a cab. get the ticket at the counter located just before you leave the departure hall. these are the official cabs - fixed price; similar to the silverbird (or bluebird) in indon.

would be funny if they say cannot leave JB with more than 1/4 tank. meaning sg cars need to spend at least half tank in MY

I think this is silly .... singaporeans don't just go in to pump petrol and dart out ... they'll go in and patronise the car wash, to eat, to shop, to play .... in other words, spend a lot of money in addition to just pumping cheap petrol ....
