sure a mage can aoe farm almost anything but keep in mind the
amt of down time to eat and drink... is tat truly "farming
effective"?
idk why u rolled a healer throughout the entire TBC when u hated
healing... i'm rolling a healer cos i actually like to heal... tis
make me wonder why are u playing WoW anyway?
and just for the record, i did not DECLARE that holy pally is
the BEST healer... i said i choose it as it's a easier class to
play... *roll eyes*
as for holy pally being worse with base stats, i would think a
comparision chart using WOTLK content would be more relevant... i'm
not saying ur statistics are wrong, frankly i have no idea... but
tis is afterall WOTLK and not TBC
have u seen ice mages farm? i hardly see them stop to eat. if
they're not farming effective maybe u'd like to explain why they're
the most played farming class? Maybe u're right and god knows how
many millions of people are wrong? ;D
Simple. Why do people tank or roll healers? Have u seen how
difficult it is for dps to get parties for instances, raid spots
etc? I play WoW because ive been a big warcraft fan since WC2 and
totally love the lore. Unlike lots of people who play just for the
raiding and totally miss out on a large part of the universe of
warcraft.
Ok so you said paly is easier. I'm not so sure about that from a
healing point of view, but maybe u're planning to be just a raide
healer and totally not do 5 mans, so u could be right on that
^^
Oh this might be wotlk, but lets be honest, why would they
suddenly be much different? if you wish i could simply have a look
at the base stats of top rank lesser healing wave and FoL and get
back to u right now. not hard since i got both a pala and a shaman.
:D
shaman: 1624 to 1852 (ave 1738) for 659 mana = 2.64
heal/mana
pala: 788 to 833 (ave 810.5) for 307 mana = 2.64
heal/mana
As you can see shaman is as mana efficient as pala, but once u
factor in the gains from gear, pala becomes more mana efficient
because the mana cost is less, so you gain more bonus heal per mana
than any other class. That mana efficiency is balanced out by the
fact that a shaman's LHW is more likely to heal enough to keep a
party member alive while a FoL's amount healed might not be enough
in the same situation. Therefore how "easy" a paladin healer is to
play is subject to debate. Certainly its the most relaxing main
healer class to play in raids, but certainly one of the harder ones
in 5 mans. Also, a good measure of how survivable any healing class
is, is to see how easy they are to kill when u do heroic old
kingdom's last boss during the insanity phase. Paladins are easy to
kill. You'll find that shamans and priests take slightly longer
because of the healing talents available to them. Hardest of all
are druids, totally impossible to kill. Its a good reflection of
which classes have the most imba general healing, without taking
into specific roles like main healer etc.
