hmm...that's interesting, I'm also interested in I-Ching, maybe you can teach me a thing or two. years ago, i did a computer program on calculations of i-ching.

i am not an expert, i read it a couple of year ago, almost forget liao now, and about computer, i remember there is a rumour said the computer binary system come from i ching bagua, and the first computer is not the computer nowadays, they used - - and - to represent 1 and 0, and - - and - are carved on a pad, there input it into computer, maybe it's the first machine language,

And i ching, i used to use it to fortune telling my friends, sometimes it turn out to be accurate, but the philosophical implication of i ching is much more important than the fortune telling nature of it,

for anyone want to do fortune telling, i teach you a method, then you can help yourself,

first, find three coin, use head to represent yang, tale to represent yin, or the other way round,

then mix the coin, throw the coin on the table, if three yin, it represent yang, if two yin ,one yang, it represent yang, why is this, don't ask why,just do it, if it's a yang, write an — on a paper, then as i said if three yang, or two yang one yin, it represent yin, if it's yin write -- on paper,

throw the coin six times, then you got a bagua like |||||| or ||||||

the real picture is flip 90 degree of what i write down, there are 64 combination of bagua ,the |||||| is pure yang , the other is pure yin, then find the i ching book, find the corresponded chapter of annotation, there are 64 chapter in i ching, then if you can read chinese, just read from the book, it tell you your fortune,

And way the real method is much more complicated than this, it's an simplified method.

you are right. 3 coin are toss six times. the first 3 toss represents the later hexagram and the next 3 represents the earlier hexagram. The first toss is the bottom line and the 6 toss is the top line.

Let say it you toss 3 tails for all the 6 toss, You get 6 yin lines representing the KUN kua. You have to read the KUN (2nd kua) but because it is all 3 tails per toss, it can also be transform to a yang. therefore it is also a 6 yang lines representing the CHIEN (1st kua)

seems you are talking the advanced technique, here i am only talking about the simple method, because using this method, can only show yin, or yang, not the whole picture, with the less yin and less yang, so all together it should have four element, yin, less yin, yang less yang, and with the complete of four element, it's more complicated here, it's the transformation you are talking about, but, here i am only talking the simple method, ignore less yin and less yang, so here got no transformation of what you are talking about,

good luck, i think maybe you can fortune telling your friends, i used have done this , just for fun, turn out to be somehow accurate, yi in chinese, means change, in fact there three means in the yi, convinient, simple, and everlasting,

actually the 64 hexagram show the law how something start from scratch, and growing developing, and falling,

the last second chapter is jiji, means everything is perfect, then the last chapter is wei ji, means everything become imperfect again, then the life cycle start all over again.

Kongzi said if i read i ching at 50, i will have no more mistakes,

i don't believe supernatural force, but i believe when you master the law of change, the change of state of everything, then some other people, look at you, feel you are supernatural, lol.
